"....t'is happy for him that his father was before him" JOHNATHAN SWIFT

"Murder? Malfeasance? Mayhem? Most families have persons or events probably best left forgotten; yet these help shape us.....make us who we are. Consider that rascal François Vallé! Although happily married, his ill-timed dalliance with a mysterious Indian woman in the wilds of Upper Louisiana caused much turmoil at home yet produced a line of kind, gentle bastard cousins. There is also the perhaps over-zealous revenue collector, John Brown, who was shot to death by a vindictive Tory in 1792. Fortunately it occurred after this particular branch of our family tree had already "sprouted". Pursuing our roots is worthwhile yet daunting due to the many name changes, the wanton destruction of churches and monasteries by Henry Vlll, and the countless records lost during the Dark Ages. Nevertheless, we find in one branch Doda Begga Clothilda the third great grandmother of Charlemagne who 'took to the cloth' after her husband was killed in 691. She founded at least seven churches and was later canonized by the Church as St. Begga for cures of hernias and infant diseases. In another, the hapless Ursula Dynod was also canonized by the Church for leading some 11,000 virginal handmaidens on a pilgrimage to Rone in 383. Legend tells us they were slaughtered on their return by pagan Huns near present day Cologne. We also find the father of Julius Caesar in one, in another, Roman Emperor Marcus Aurelius, and yet in another, England's unfortunate King Edward II. As these histories span some 2000 years, space dictates listing only our direct ancestors. Much other data in varied formats is stored in the Archive folder as well as contact information. Ancestral charts are included in many of the family groups below. Most of the original documents and media files are with Tarver [Huck] Laub in Apache Junction, Arizona.  Emperors, tyrants, kings, and saints....these are just part of who we are.....
